The importance of a thorough sight examination, where a correction is required, is fully realised when the prescription is filled. To this end at First Contact Opticians we firmly believe in supplying the best quality of lenses available whilst maintaining the best value for money. We believe in giving you a full choice of all the lenses, which may be suitable for your prescription & lifestyle. To enhance our reputation we only use the best spectacle lens suppliers available. Typically these include Essilor, Hoya, Zeiss, Rodenstock & Nikon.
Current spectacle lenses fall into three main categories, single vision, bifocal multifocal lenses.
Plastic lenses are the most commonly used in all forms of vision correction. They offer the advantages of being half the weight of glass lenses and also almost unbreakable, therefore giving comfort as well as safety. Traditionally, plastic lenses have been easier to scratch and also thicker than the equivalent glass lenses. However, new technology has led to the development of coatings, which offer the scratch resistance of glass lenses, and denser materials, which are thinner than standard glass lenses. For these reasons, plastic lenses are the first choice for the majority of patients.
We all want to look good and feel good about ourselves, which is why at First Contact Opticians we have a comprehensive range of spectacle frames to suit all requirements. Our broad range of
spectacle frames cater both to those who want to make a fashion statement, and to those who want a practical yet inexpensive frame.
We believe that our spectacle wearing clients are walking advertisements for our practice. With this belief in mind, we will assist you in selecting the ideal frame, that both looks good, and suits your lifestyle and needs. We believe that your glasses should inspire confidence, ensuring that you look and feel great!
